It proves that we’re deeply desperate for answers that we ever considered buying this explanation.  Millions of people bought a book with this title, apparently thinking to themselves, “Wait!  That might be it!  Here I was limiting myself to single-planet thinking, and all the while the answer was out there in the cosmos.  You gotta think outside the globe.”

If the Mars/Venus thing is true, then men win the trophy for having come the farthest, because while Venus is 26 million miles from Earth, Mars is 35 million miles away – 9 million miles farther.  61 million miles combined.  And you thought salmon traveled a long way to mate!
